Are you a defender of the HEA (Happily Ever After)? Join Flirty Fiction Book Club where we’ll read a different romance book each month, talk about our favorite tropes, and find some new ones!

For our August 20th meeting at 5:30 pm we will be reading Nocticadia by Keri Lake and A Kiss Remembered by Sandra Brown.

Books will be available for pick-up at the Circulation Desk the week of July 29th. You do not need to read both books to attend.

**Please be aware this book has trigger warnings**

After watching my mother succumb to a mysterious illness, I promised myself two things. I’d find the cure for what ravaged her. And leave the godforsaken city where she abandoned me.

Four years later, I receive an acceptance letter from Dracadia University, one of the oldest, most prestigious schools in the country. Nestled on a secluded island off the coast of Maine, it’s rumored to be haunted by the souls of the mental patients exiled there centuries before. Those whose bones are said to make up the island’s white sandy shores.

And restless ghosts aren’t even its most daunting peculiarity.
Devryck Bramwell, known on campus as Doctor Death, is a brilliant pathologist in charge of the midnight lab. He’s also my devastatingly handsome professor, who seems to loathe tenacious first-years, like me. Except, his dark and enigmatic gaze tells me all the ways he’d devour me if given the chance, and his stolen kisses burn my lips with forbidden jealousy.

I crave his authority.
He aches for redemption.
Together, we’re toxic. Delicious fodder for the prying eyes hellbent on exhuming the rotted skeletons of our pasts.

For the dead have much to teach, and it’s only a matter of time before Dracadia’s most depraved secret is resurrected.

Ten years after sparks first flew between them in a passionate kiss, a recently divorced woman and a college professor meet in another classroom — but is it too late to explore what could have been?

After leaving her disastrous marriage behind, Shelley Browning goes back to college to get her degree and comes face to face with an unforgettable man from her past. Ten years ago, when she was Grant Chapman’s student, they shared a single, scorching, unplanned kiss that still haunts Shelley’s dreams.

Now, as irresistible as ever, Grant has just returned to teaching after a stint as a congressional aide in Washington . . . and sees no impropriety in asking Shelley out. Isn’t this what she secretly longs for? Still, Shelly isn’t sure what she really wants. But a stunning accusation is about to change all that — and she must choose to take some dangerous risks or spend the rest of her life filled with regret.
